Graduated in Law in 1981, also obtaining an Extraordinary End of Degree Award, from the University of Navarra. In 1982 he passed the state examination to become a judge and in 1987 was promoted to Magistrate, specialising in Civil and Criminal Law, having achieved the highest grade of all judges in the access examination.

He’s carried out judicial functions in the Courts of First Instance and Instruction as well as in the Civil Sections of the Provincial Courts of the Balearic Islands and Madrid. He was Associate Professor of Civil Law and Procedural Law at the University of the Balearic Islands.

Since 2008 he’s been practising as a specialist lawyer in civil and commercial law.

He’s an Arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration of Madrid.

Raimundo Zaforteza Fortuny

He’s been practising law since 1985 as a member of the Bar Association of the Balearic Islands.

He’s lectured in Banking Contract Law at the School of Legal Practice of the Bar Association of the Balearic Islands. Member of the Board of Directors of various several commercial enterprises in the sectors of tourism, wealth management and social media and is a trustee of various foundations of a welfare and educational nature.

In 2012, Pope Benedict XVI decorated him with the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice.

He passed the state examination to become part of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, holding posts in the High Court of Justice of Galicia (Cambados – Villagarcía de Arousa) and in the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands. In May 2002 she joined Zaforteza Abogados, focusing from the beginning on civil law (including family law), and commercial law, especially corporate law.

After finishing her degree, she did an internship in several law firms in Edinburgh (Scotland), where she lived for a couple of years.

He’s been a practising lawyer for the Granada Bar Association since 2002 and the Madrid Bar Association since 2006. He’s provided his services in the legal departments of URBASER, S.A. (ACS Group) and REPSOL, S.A.

A specialist in procedural and also insurance law (professional civil liability in engineering, architecture and medical-healthcare), banking law (contracts and abusive clauses) and construction law.

He’s collaborated in the Master’s degree in Energy Law, at the Higher Institute of Energy, in collaboration with Cremades & Calvo Sotelo; training courses for the business units of Repsol, S.A.

Miguel Arbona

He graduated in Law in 1988 from the University of the Balearic Islands.

He embarked on his judicial career after passing the state competitive examination in 1991, holding posts in Courts of First Instance and Instruction in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. He was a member of the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands.

In 1998 he was promoted to the rank of Magistrate. Since then, his judicial work has focused exclusively on the criminal field. For three years he worked for a Court specialising in the enforcement of criminal sentences.

In 2007 he moved to the Criminal Sections of the Provincial Court of Palma de Mallorca. He was also Associate Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands in its the Commercial Law area between 2002 and 2007.

In 2011 he requested a leave of absence from his judicial career to join Zaforteza Abogados.

She began her professional career as a legal advisor on public procurement at the Tenders Office of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia.

At the end of 2003 she joined the department of administrative and town planning law of the law firm Gil-Vernet, Martí, Orpinell i Solé Advocats Associats, in Barcelona.

Since 2012 she’s been part of the legal team at Zaforteza Abogados, advising individuals, companies, compensation boards, architects and public administrations on urban planning and management and intervention in building and land use. Her work also extends to other branches of administrative law, especially public procurement, compulsory purchase, asset liability and disciplinary law.

José Ramón Recalde

Between 1988 and 2000 he held various management positions in the insurance companies Grupo MutuAvenir, Agrupació Mutua and British Life. Between 2000 and 2013 he was General Manager and CEO of the insurance companies of the AMIC Group (Mutualidad de Ingenieros) and Director of the group’s subsidiaries. During this period he was also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Confederation of Social Insurance Entities (CNEPS) and was a member of the Institute of Directors-Administrators (IC-A).

Javier Moya

Raquel Arévalo

Graduate in Law with a postgraduate in Civil Litigation from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.

A member of the Bar Association of the Balearic Islands since 2008, she began practising as a general lawyer, specialising shortly afterwards in Family Law, a legal field in which she’s discovered the importance of negotiation and mediation in order to resolve a large number of family conflicts by achieving agreement between the different parties, especially when minors are involved.

She has specialised postgraduate qualifications in the Mediation of Family Conflicts from the University of the Balearic Islands in 2013, being entered in the Register of Family Mediators of the Family Mediation Service and registered with the Institute of Mediation of the Balearic Islands.
